I'm Shanda Richards, director of revenue cycle at Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna, Alaska. FinThrive has been a very good partner for our organization.
They've helped us put tools in place that we needed right at the time when we needed them.
They were easy to implement and they've been a very good communication partner. Our hospital uses FinThrive Learn to teach many of our frontline users in the revenue cycle all the way from patient access to billing and collections and claims to our financial counselors and self pay collectors. We've also been able to utilize it in our coding and utilization review staff.
Our hospital has as part of that growth have many decentralized registration points and we have acquired many practices within the organization. So the phenomenon that happened is that I can't often find billers that are already educated because they worked at a physician clinic in our community and then I hired them into the hospital so they came with experience. That's what we used to be able to do. So FinThrive Learn modules, we've been able to roll those out, as elective learning for our staff. We then put together required learning packages for our new hires that are accustomed to the role that they're performing. And then we can also use baseline assessments to assess where they're at in their learning and decide as a team, are there areas that our entire team needs to touch up on?
